Where should I park?

We recommend the Bedford parking garage located adjacent to our building at 461 N Bedford Dr. The garage is highly rated and provides convenient access to our office. Please note that we do not provide parking validation.

How do I schedule?

All visits are by appointment only and scheduled through phone 626.838.5485.

What should I expect at my first visit?

At your initial consultation, we will conduct a deep medical history and physical assessment. This typically takes 1-3 hours depending on the complexity of your condition. All decisions will stem from your diagnostics and therapeutic needs and treatment goals identified during this thorough evaluation.

What conditions do you treat?

Mastery Medical specializes in complex chronic conditions that require advanced diagnostic approaches and comprehensive treatment protocols. Our primary areas of focus include:

Spine & Musculoskeletal Conditions: Low back pain, sciatica, chronic spine dysfunction, and biomechanical disorders. We provide precise diagnosis using advanced spine assessment techniques combined with targeted exercise prescription and coaching.

Environmental & Immune Medicine: Mold exposure injury, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, dysautonomia, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and candida overgrowth (SIFO). We treat patients with complex immune dysfunction caused by environmental toxins and post-infectious syndromes.

Hormonal Deficiencies: We address endocrine dysfunction through comprehensive hormone replacement therapy including testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid hormone, hydrocortisone, and oxytocin optimization.

Post-Infectious Syndromes: Long COVID and other chronic conditions resulting from viral or bacterial infections that have disrupted normal immune function.

Advanced Therapeutic Interventions: We utilize cutting-edge peptide therapies including BPC-157, TB-500, CJC-1295, and Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) to accelerate healing and optimize recovery.

We focus on patients who have seen multiple specialists without achieving meaningful improvement and require the sophisticated diagnostic precision and treatment protocols that our specialized expertise provides.

How long does treatment typically take?

Treatment for complex chronic conditions typically requires months to years for optimal results. We treat patients in 4-month terms – long enough to make an impact and short enough to not lock in patients for undue periods before renewing. This approach allows us to assess progress, adjust protocols, and ensure you’re achieving the outcomes you’re seeking before continuing to the next phase of care.

How much does care cost?

Our comprehensive care programs and subscriptions range based on diagnostic and therapeutic complexity. Reach out to clinic and we can give you a rate after our initial screening process.

Do you take insurance?

No. Mastery Medical operates outside the insurance system by design, and here’s why this actually benefits our patients:

Our Package-Based Programs are specifically designed around comprehensive care protocols that insurance doesn’t recognize or reimburse. Unlike conventional medicine’s 15-minute appointment model, our approach requires extensive diagnostic time, detailed treatment planning, and ongoing optimization that can span weeks or months.

Insurance Limitations vs. Our Standards: Most insurance plans reimburse for brief symptom management visits, not the root-cause medicine we practice. Our initial consultations range from 1-3 hours, and our treatment protocols often include advanced testing, specialized therapies (like peptides), and comprehensive lifestyle interventions that insurance considers “experimental” or simply doesn’t cover.

Why Packages Work Better: Complex chronic conditions require coordinated, sequential care – not isolated visits. Our subscription programs and care packages are designed around healing timelines, not insurance billing codes. This allows us to focus entirely on your outcomes rather than what an insurance company will approve.

The Financial Reality: Insurance reimbursement for our level of specialized care is typically minimal and involves significant administrative burden. Our transparent package pricing is more predictable and allows us to dedicate our time to patient care rather than insurance paperwork and prior authorizations.

Complete Independence: We maintain no relationships with insurance providers, allowing us complete clinical freedom to recommend the most effective treatments without external limitations or approval processes.

Why doesn’t Mastery Medical participate in Medicare or Medicaid?

We have formally opted out of Medicare to maintain complete clinical independence and deliver the comprehensive care our patients require.

The fundamental conflict: Medicare defines “medical necessity” based on brief, symptom-focused visits that we believe are inadequate for complex chronic conditions. Our patients need extensive diagnostic evaluation, sophisticated treatment protocols, and ongoing education and counseling – all of which Medicare considers “unnecessary” regardless of clinical outcomes or scientific validity.

The regulatory reality: Medicare imposes substantial financial penalties on physicians who provide care beyond their narrow guidelines, even when that care is effective and evidence-based. These restrictions would force us to compromise our clinical standards and abandon the comprehensive approach that our patients specifically seek.

Our commitment: Rather than limit our practice to what a government program deems acceptable, we chose complete independence to deliver the sophisticated, individualized care that complex chronic conditions require.

Legal requirement: Under Medicare opt-out regulations, patients cannot submit any claims to Medicare for services received at our clinic, and we cannot bill Medicare on their behalf under any circumstances.

This decision allows us to focus entirely on clinical outcomes rather than regulatory compliance, ensuring every patient receives the comprehensive care their condition demands.
